Private family services for Nelson “Mack” Owen McCurdy, 73, Lawrence, KS will be held at a later date. He died June 13, 2017 at his home.

He was born on July 23, 1943 in Willard, Missouri the son of Hoyd and Willie Gladys (Nelson) McCurdy.

Mack served for 6 years in the U.S. Army. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Claycomo Missouri after 43 years. He enjoyed tinkering and building model cars.

He married Carol Anne Bleich on March 26, 1977 in North Kansas City, Missouri. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his sons, Heath McCurdy (Carolyn) Aiken, South Carolina, Lance McCurdy (Shima) Lawrence, KS; son, John Heidenreich, Liberty, Missouri; daughters, Jennifer Lowry and Jane Patterson, both of Liberty, Missouri; brother, Cloyd McCurdy, Fordland, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Caiden, Amber, Kim, Julie, Blaine, Phillip; four great grandchildren, Skylar, Devin, Darin, Bodhi. And his beloved dog Heidi. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, J.O. and James McCurdy.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
