Elizabeth “Beth” Louise (Campbell) Walker

Memorial service for Beth (Campbell) Walker, 53, Eudora will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Assembly of God Church in Eudora. She passed away on August 17, 2015 at the Olathe Hospice House.

Beth was born on August 24, 1961 in Omaha, Nebraska the daughter of Raymond “Gene” Eugene and Elizabeth Willine (Colvin) Campbell. The family transitioned through Sedalia, Missouri eventually finding their way to Overland Park, where Beth spent her school years, graduating from Shawnee Mission West high school. An avid reader and a member of the drill team, Beth’s love for life connected her with many people in and out of the Kansas City region.

Beth loved her husband Charlton from a young age. Charlton and Beth met at an Assemblies of God campground, Wheatstate Camp, in Augusta, Kansas, when Charlton was 13 and Beth was 15 years old. Their love for each other was immediate, and in spite of their age and the fact that they lived in two different cities, their relationship grew and developed. On August 16, 1982, she married Charlton Geoffrey Lewis Walker in Shawnee, KS in a small, private ceremony. For the past 33 years, Beth was many things, of which “mother” was her primary calling. Additionally, she fulfilled roles and jobs ranging from cheer instructor, to executive administrative secretary, to meter reader for Interstate Power Company. In between those opportunities, she found time to write poetry and songs, sing, attend school events, and work in ministry alongside her husband…and she loved Word Search puzzles.

Beth’s priority was family and friends, but above all she loved spending time with Charlton, especially while pursuing mutual interests. At the top of her list was listening to and writing music, singing and songwriting, and caring for their grandest’s, Pey, Shea, Liam and Camden.

She leaves her devoted husband, Charlton, at home in Eudora, KS.

Other survivors include her father, Gene and wife, Lynde, Shawnee, KS; a daughter, Madison Elizabeth Curtis and husband, Christopher, Leawood, KS; two sons, Branton Gene Campbell Walker and wife, Shelly, Rochester, MN; Jordan Geoffrey William Walker and wife, Chelcy, Minneapolis, MN; one sister, Marcia Gibson and husband, Wayne, Lenexa; two brothers, Larry Campbell and Darin Campbell and partner, Sarah Maaks, all three of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Peyton Campbell Walker, Camden Daniel Walker, Shea Louise Curtis and Liam Christopher Curtis; two nephews, Timmy Gibson and Mason Campbell. Her mother, Willine, and her niece, Kimberle, preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name thru PayPal to www.charltonwalker.com.

Dear Walker and Campbel families. I feel as if I’ve traveled this road beside you, even though I’m in California. My heart and prayers have been with you through this valley.
I didn’t ever have the pleasure of meeting Beth in person, but I know she was beautiful, both inside and out. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman. Her husband Charlton was respected and revered because of Beth. Beth brought nothing but good for Charlton all the days of her life and her children have arisen to call her blessed. I pray that I may emulate her life.
You are such a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing Jesus with so many. Your faith and love has inspired and strengthened my faith and the faith of many. God will abundantly bless you as you have blessed others. Please know that after things have calmed down and if you begin to feel alone, I will still be thinking about you and praying for you. You have left an indelible impression in my heart that will ever remain. You will always have a ‘lifer’ friend in me. Please contact me if you ever need a friend to talk to, or a shoulder to lean on. I will try to help in any way I can. Thank you Jesus for Beth and your lovely family. Now she is with our lord where there is no more tears or pain. Hallelujah to the lamb that was slain and rose again! Love, Janet Uhler Cervantes
