Eddie Joe Martin

A visitation for Eddie Joe Martin, 56, Lawrence, KS will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. He passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his home.

Eddie was born August 12, 1958 in Lawrence the son of Jack Gene and Mary Louise (Morris) Martin.

He was a heavy equipment operator for RD Johnson Excavating Company. He formerly worked for the City of Lawrence for 20 years.

Eddie enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, horses, rode bulls, and broke and shoed horses.

He married Linda Martin in 1980 in Miami, OK and they later divorced.

Survivors include two step-children, Larry Abbott, Lawrence, Brandee Clark, Burlingame, KS; two brothers, Mike Martin, Fred Martin, both of Lawrence; sister, Kathy Edgerton, Lawrence; nieces and nephews; and three step grandchildren; Lane, Megan, and Owen.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of the mortuary.

    We are very sorry to hear about Eddie. Since we moved to Colorado we haven’t seen him in a very long time but have memories of him as a kid.

    RIP Brother, was a wonderful friend taught me alot will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Edd sitting around the campfire with Phyllis and Lloyd and Uncle Jack and Aunt Mary.
