Grace Augusta Boyd

Grace was born July 25, 1922 in Kansas City, KS the daughter of Duddley B. and Rebecca F. (Davis) Quick.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1940. She married Howard Boyd in 1943. They moved to Lawrence in 1954. They moved to Massachusetts Street in 1962 and lived there until her passing at home.

Grace had four children, Charles and Claude Boyd twins who preceded her in death and two surviving children, Howard Boyd of Albany, OR and Rebecca McGoff of Lawrence. She had eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

They owned and operated Boyd’s Grill on 6^th and Massachusetts Street. She retired from the Lawrence Credit Bureau at the age of 80. She enjoyed reading, antiquing, crouching rugs, and her family. She will always be the strength in our family even in her passing.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Visiting Nurses and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
