Irene Evangeline (Larson) Yohe

Memorial mass services for Irene Evangeline (Larson) Yohe, 91, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2015 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Irene passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Irene was born February 9, 1924 in Canby, MN the daughter of John Staffan and Julia (Fassbender) Larson.

She has lived in Lawrence since 2005.

She was a seamstress and fitter for Swanson’s Department Store in Kansas City, MO until she retired in 1989.

She married Frank Yohe, June 29, 1974 in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death in October 1977.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Herbertson and husband, James, Karen Turk, Norene Adolphsen and husband, Dale, Mary Henderson and husband, Patrick; son, Norbert John and wife, Sharon Henrich; daughter-in-law, Sandy Henrich; eleven grandchildren, Emory and Ethan Herbertson, Jenny Turk, Mari Young, Tracy and Eric Henrich, Paul Douglas Henrich, Brian, Kelli, and Jeff Henderson; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Verna Dye. She was also preceded in death by one son, Paul Craig Henrich; one granddaughter, Christy Henrich; and siblings, Cecelia, Alice, Agnes, Inez, Alvin, Sylvester, Josephine and Evelyn.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church or the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Flowers may be sent to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

    My Mom, Marge Henrich, wife of Marcellus who was a brother of Norbie, send our condolences to the family of Irene. We remember her well, a lovely lady who was a sister of Sylvester and wife of Norbie many years ago. May our Lord bring you comfort in your time of sorrow.
