Jesse Paul Hopkins

Funeral services for Jesse Paul Hopkins, 80, of Eudora will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at Family of Faith Fellowship in Eudora. Burial will follow in Eudora Cemetery. He died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.

Jesse was born February 11, 1934 in Rozel, KS the son of Jesse Mathias and Laura A. (Hodges) Hopkins.

Jesse served his country in the United States Army from 1956 – 1958.

He was a member of the Family of Faith Fellowship in Eudora and a member of the I.B. Boilermakers Local #83.

He married Gracie Lynn Allen on December 28, 1957 in Lawrence. She preceded him in death March 25, 1996.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Kay Landon and husband, Barry, Topeka, KS, Paula Lynn Hopkins, Olathe, KS; one son, Rodney Matthew Hopkins and wife, Kelly, Grayslake, IL; seven grandchildren, John Bryce Landon, Brianna Kay Landon, Blaire Elyse Landon, Blythe Grace Landon, Maci Lynne and husband, Robert “Bob” Yarsulik, Mallory Leigh Fry, and Emma Grace Hopkins; and one great granddaughter, Aaralyn Nykol Yarsulik. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse M. Hopkins, Timothy Paul Hopkins, Daniel Luke Hopkins; and one sister, Wanda Moyer.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel in Eudora.

The family suggests memorials in his name to the Salvation Army or Family of Faith Fellowship and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    Our dearest friend Paula, We love you and want you to know how deeply sorry we are. Your Dad was a great man and we will always remember his love of clocks and how much fun we had finding them for him at garage sales. Even tho we cannot be there in person our hearts are.
