Margaret Austin Williams

Memorial services for Margaret Austin Williams, 65, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Holcom Park in Lawrence. She passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at her home, while on Vitas Hospice.

She was born May 30, 1952 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Robert Austin, Sr. and Mamie (Payne) Austin.

She was an avid bingo player. She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all others that needed cared for.

Retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after working there for many years, and then she became a Real Estate Agent for Century 21.

She married Jerome L. Williams May 26th 1972 in Leavenworth Kansas. He preceded her in death in August of 2013.

Survivors include her daughters, Monica Williams (Stacey Eraas-Williams), Lawrence, KS, Shonna Williams, Topeka, KS; sons, Greg Watkins, (Jennifer), Eudora, KS, Damien Williams, Lawrence; grandchildren, Tony Williams, Quinton Williams, CJ Williams, Nichalus Williams, Raven Williams Marcus Williams, Skylar Mills, Drake Williams, Jarrett Watkins, Austin Watkins, Tyra Mills, Leigha Williams, Vanessa Williams, Keira Williams; great grandchildren, Carter Williams, Zya Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Siblings Sharon Goolsby, Washington D.C.; Allan “Lannie” Austin, Lawrence, KS; Steve Austin, Eudora, KS; Michael Austin, Lawrence KS; Crystal Austin, Lawrence, KS; Corky Austin, Lawrence, KS; Carla Goolsby, Long Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by two of her siblings, Robert Austin and “Lanie” Griffin.

We would like to express a “Big” Thank you to Vitas Hospice for the care everyone provided.

    I am so very sorry for your loss . May the family continue to receive comfort from the loving and precious words at 1 Peter 5:7 and Isaiah 41:10. God cares and He wants to give you peace of heart and mind . Isaiah 25:8.
