Shirley “June” (Staples) Stafford

Graveside service for Shirley “June” (Staples) Stafford, 84, Eudora will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at White Chapel Cemetery in Gladstone, MO. She died November 22, 2014 at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.

June was born on January 13, 1930 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of George Ira and LaVenna Jean (Cutshall) Weaver. She was raised by her step-father, James H. Pettis.

June was a beautician at Jenny’s Beauty Shop. She retired in 1995. She was an avid bowler.

She married Charles H. Staples. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1970. She later married Harold Stafford. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2002.

Survivors include three sons, James C. Staples (Pamela), Thomas L. Staples (Patricia), Chuck H. Staples (Debra), all of Tonganoxie; daughter, Sherrill J. Grinter (George), Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Floyd Eugene Pettis, Lansing; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Southern Care Hospice and may be sent in care Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

    I wish to express my sincere condolence to all the family. I unfortunately cannot be with you all through this but my prayers and thoughts are with you. Just know that I always loved you Mother. She was more like a sister to me. I will never forget her nor you. I love you all

    June was a very nice and friendly lady always saying good morning, smiling. She will be missed from crossed the street. Bless her and her family prays from our family.

    I am sorry to hear about Aunt June. Our family has drifted apart in so many ways. I am here for all of you. She was a wonderful lady. I do remember her kindness to me. My prayers go out to all of you. Stacy
