Graveside services for Vera G. Fry, 88, Lawrence, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013, at Eudora Cemetery in Eudora, KS. She died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home.

Vera was born on February 16, 1924 in , the daughter of  Charles and Mildred (Beach) Graves.

She was a LPN for 15 years at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and then was Director of Nursing at Medicalodges Nursing home in Eudora until she retired in 1988.

She loved playing card games.

Vera was married to Marvin “Dennis” Fry on July 23, 1943 in Lawrence, KS.  He preceded her in death November 15, 2008.

Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl “Sherry” Hunt, Gardner, KS; three sons, Terry Fry, Lawrence, Jerry Fry, Eudora, Roger Fry, Little Rock, AR; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Ambrest, Sumner, IA and Lee Howe, Long Island, WA; and one brother, Charles Graves, Long Island, WA.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Medicalodges of Eudora and may be in care of the mortuary.
