Funeral service for Reba J. Bryant, 93, Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. She passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Kansas City Hospice House.

She was born April 7, 1923 in Altamont, KS the daughter of Raymond L. and Gladys I. (Payne) Hartwell.

She worked at Capitol Federal Savings & Loan for 28 years at the 11th & Vermont Street Branch.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, DAV Auxiliary, NALC Auxiliary, NARFE and AARP.

She was a faithful and dedicated KU Basketball fan for many years. She also enjoyed playing the organ.

She married Walter C. Bryant on November 11, 1945 in Altamont, KS. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2008.

Other survivors include two daughters, Margaret “Peggy” L. Hada, Houston, TX, Linda L. Jones, Denver, CO; one son, Steven R. Bryant, Lenexa, KS; four grandchildren, Tracy, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Ashley; three great grandchildren, Owen, Leo, Clayton; and three sisters, Georgia Mosler, Altamont, KS, Lorene Thomas, Springfield, MO, and Martha Keene, Phoenix, AZ. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Vohs and Louise Hartwell.

The family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 16th at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church or Kansas City Hospice House and Palliative Care and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
