Belva A. Gabriel Thrasher

Funeral services for Belva A. Gabriel Thrasher, 74, De Soto will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday December 9, 2017 at De Soto Baptist Church in De Soto, Kansas. Burial will follow at Eudora Cemetery. She passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at Hillside Village in De Soto.

Belva was born July 15, 1943 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Arthur W. and Alberta Bell (Rohe) Gabriel.

She received her Associates Degree from Johnson County Community College.

She was a member of De Soto Baptist Church, DAR, De Soto Chamber, VFW and the De Soto Historical Society.

She was a Registered Nurse at Olathe Medical Center until she retired in 1997.

She married Willie J. Thrasher December 14, 1973 in Tahlequah, OK. He preceded her in death September 2, 2011.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelley and husband, Bret Chapman, Lenexa, KS; a son, Jon Kobler, De Soto, KS; two grandchildren, Katelyn Chapman and Jacob Chapman; and her brother, Arlen Gabriel, Eudora, KS.

The family will greet friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 at the De Soto Baptist Church., Funeral Services start 12:30 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to American Cancer Society, De Soto Baptist Church, VFW, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
