Aaron Doleman Jr.

August 30, 1929 — November 28, 2025

Our family patriarch, Aaron Doleman Jr., entered into the presence of the Lord on November 28, 2025. He spent his final weeks surrounded by his loving family and friends at his daughter’s residence in Lawrence, KS.

Aaron’s Funeral Service is set for 11:00 AM, Friday, December 12, 2025, at First Regular Missionary Baptist Church, 1646 Vermont Street, Lawrence, KS, 66044. A visitation will start at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Following the service, burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Additionally, there will be a visitation at the church on the evening of Thursday, December 11 from 5pm-7pm where the family will greet friends.

Aaron was born in Hollyknowe, MS on August 30, 1929, the son of Aaron Sr. and Fannie (Harris) Doleman. There he attended Evening Star Elementary at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church. The family moved to Black Bayou, MS where he attended school at New Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church. He completed his undergraduate education at Arcola High School in Arcola, MS. and then attended college at Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS.

Aaron served his country in the US Army from 1951-1953. After his service, he worked as a mechanic and drove a bus for Arcola Community Unit School District #306 for over 30 years. He also worked as a pond manager at a fish farm in Arcola, MS and a salesman at Highway 82 Furniture Fair in Greenville, MS. After moving to Lawrence, Aaron continued his work as a mechanic and was employed at Lonnie’s Recycling.

Aaron married Marie Murray on September 8, 1956, in Greenville, MS. They moved to Lawrence, KS to be with family in 1998. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2019.

A faithful servant of the lord, Aaron confessed in Christ and joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Arcola, MS in 1942. Following his belief in Christ, he joined First Regular Missionary Baptist Church upon moving to Lawrence, KS where he was a faithful servant until his passing.

Aaron is survived by his daughters Vera Doleman and Joyce (Martin) Williams, Lawrence, KS; Sandra (Lynn) Gray, Hollandale, MS; his sons Aaron (KC) Doleman III, Lawrence; Mark Topps, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Mike Doleman, his sister, Mary Haynes, and his great-granddaughter, Shaterika Doleman.

Aaron was our gentle giant. He is loved and will be missed by his family. He is now at peace in the arms of his savior.
