Alandra Rice went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the age of 77. She was born on June 23, 1948, in Portland, Indiana, to Dewey and Lorene Richardson. One of three children, Alandra moved with her family to Eudora, Kansas, in the mid-1950s.

Alandra met the love of her life, Bob Rice, in the eighth grade in 1962. The two were married in 1966 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 4, 2026. Together they raised two daughters, Kyle and Kirsten.

For 29 years, Alandra was a dedicated special education bus driver for USD 491, a role she deeply loved and found joy in every day. She treasured her family above all else and was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, always preparing enough food to feed a crowd.

Known affectionately as “Nanny,” Alandra cherished every moment with her granddaughters, Savannah and Hudson, and her great-grandson, Asher. She was well known for her wonderful cooking, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Time spent with those she loved brought her great happiness.

A woman of faith, Alandra loved the Lord and used her strength and compassion to help others whenever she could. She fought the good fight, finished the race, and now rests in her heavenly home with the Father.

Alandra is survived by her loving husband, Bob Rice; daughter, Kirsten Boyd and husband Branden Boyd; granddaughters, Savannah Gomez and husband Carlos Gomez, and Hudson Boyd; great-grandson, Asher Gomez; and brothers, Dwane Richardson and wife Valerie Richardson, and Lyle Richardson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Lorene Richardson, and her daughter, Kyle Christiansen.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary - Eudora Chapel with a service at 10:30 a.m.  Private family burial will follow the service at Eudora City Cemetery.
