Alberta J. Pyle

Mass of Christian Burial for Alberta J. Schopper Pyle, 88, Eudora, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial will follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Holy Family’s webpage on Facebook. Due to Covid-19, social distancing will be observed and masks are required in the church.

Alberta passed away at Medicalodges on Sunday, June 21, 2020.

Alberta was born on July 25, 1931 in Eudora, KS, the daughter of John and Helen (Grosdidier) Schopper.

She and her husband, Tom, were the owners and operators of Pyle Meat Company since 1959. Tom closed the store when he retired.

She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Theresa Society.

She married Thomas “Tom” R. Pyle on December 30, 1950 in Eudora, KS. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her three daughters, Rose (Dave) House, Bernadette (Roger) Fulks, Roberta (Dirk) Lehmann, all of Eudora; four sons, Joseph (Andrea) Pyle, Eudora, Edward (Mary) Pyle, Lenexa, KS, Patrick (Sandy) Pyle, Olathe, KS, Thomas “Tommy” Pyle, Eudora; 34 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ann Schopper and Rose Cordry. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, George Schopper, Carroll Schopper, Edward Schopper; and two sisters, Sister Doloris Schopper and Sister Marcella Schopper

A private family rosary will be recited. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13 ^th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
