Graveside services for Alberta L. Shepard, 89, of Lawrence, Kansas will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 18, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lawrence.
Mrs. Shepard died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Medicalodges, Eudora.
She was born September 3, 1925 in Seneca, Kansas, the daughter of Albert Rogers and Margaret Melvira (Sherea) Rogers.
Alberta was a homemaker, and also worked as a cook for the Lawrence Public School system.
She married John Wesley Shepard on November 4, 1968, in Oskaloosa. He preceded her in death November 14, 2006.
She is survived by three sons, John W. Shepard, Harold C. Shepard, and Stanley L. Shepard, all of Lawrence; a nephew, Paul Lee Rogers of Oklahoma; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Albert Shepard; and one daughter, Linda Young.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Haskell Indian Nations University and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
