Memorial Mass for Ann Lucene Kliem, 77, Lawrence will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Concordia Catholic Cemetery in Concordia, KS.  Ann passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at her home.

She was born on May 11, 1946, in Concordia, KS the daughter of Alex Albert and Louise J. (Odette) Chaput.

Ann worked at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for several years in office administration.  She was a Mary Kay Director.

She was a practicing member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and was a homebound minister of Holy Communion.

She married Lewis “Lew” William Kliem on July 28, 1966, in Concordia, KS.  He preceded her in death on May 13, 2011.

Survivors include her two daughters, Marcey Jo Reilly and husband, Dennis, Kansas City, MO, Judi Ann Higgins and husband, Brent, Loveland, CO; five sons, Von and wife, Jaime, Fairfax Station, VA, Jonathan Kliem, Lawrence, Marc Kliem Lawrence, Alex and wife, Dorothy, Lawrence, Matthew Thomas, Lawrence; brother, Odette Chaput and wife, Carolyn, two sisters, Laura Jo Meyer, Regina Vignery; brother-in-law Rick Brumfield, 21 Grandchildren: Joe, Nicole, Claire, Cole, Quinn, Kyle, Tyler, Christian, Braeson , Olivia, Lauren, Aria, Arianna, Samantha, Evie, Dakota, Kaleb, Kenadie, Austin, Landon, Caitlynn and 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Louise Chaput, two sisters, Connie Budreau, Mary Janet Brumfield, brothers-in-law, Leroy “Bud” Budreau. George Meyer, Del Vignery; two nephews, Lee and Eric Budreau and niece, Dana Lesher.

A Biblical, Intentional Rosary Prayer Service  will be said at 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, followed by a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

The family suggests memorial contributions in Ann’s name to Blue Santa, Corpus Christi Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13 th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
