Anna (Hardie) Stimatze passed into the waiting arms of the Lord on April 15, 2013 at the age of 96. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Minnis Chapel in St. John, KS. Burial will follow at Farmington Cemetery in Macksville, KS.
Anna was born on August 1, 1916 in Stafford County, KS the daughter of Henry and Mira (Rodman) Hardie.
Anna married Cheever Paul “Brownie” Stimatze on February 14, 1940 in Pratt, KS. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker all her life.
Survivors include sons, Bill, and wife, Carol, Montrose, CO, Roger, and wife, Thresea, Conifer, CO; daughters, Rose Edwards, and husband, Bill, Stillwater, OK, Imogene Poteet, and husband, Ray, Perry, KS, Dorothy Shuckakosee, Lawrence; sisters, Carman Hanson, Walnut Creek, CA, Merrit McNamee, Pearl, MS; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Anna in death were husband, Brownie of almost 60 years; son, Leonard; daughter, JoAnn Roberts; sisters, Violet Thomas, Goldie Green; and brothers, David, Lowel, and Earl.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Charity of Donor’s Choice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
