Funeral services for Arthur “Buster” G. McCune, 96, Lawrence will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary at 10 am. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence. He died October 21, 2016 at Pioneer Ridge.

He was born on January 23, 1920 in Kankakee, IL the son of Ralph and Yvonne (LaSalle) McCune.

He was a machinist at Cooperative Farm Chemicals Association and a member of the Alfred-Clarke Post #852 V.F.W. Buster was an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed square dancing.

Survivors include daughter, Marilyn (Bray) Rannebeck and husband, Dennis, Lawrence; son, Leslie McCune and wife, Carol, Magnolia, Texas; sister, Rita Chartier; two brothers, Sonny Roles and Bill Roles; two grandchildren, David Bray, Olathe, Cheri Tugman, Texas; six great-grandchildren and companion, Shirley Zaman, Osawatomie, KS. He was preceded in death by Dorothy, his wife of 63 years, an infant son, Arthur Harold (1941), and infant daughter, Janice Ann (1949), three sisters, Pearl Green, Shirley Crumrine, and Betty Drake.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the mortuary.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gregory Schnose, his staff, the staff at Grace Hospice, and the dedicated staff at Pioneer Ridge. The care you all gave Buster was above all expectations. Thank you, and God bless all of you.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Grace Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
