Barbara Jo Brunson

Barbara Jo Brunson, 71, Eudora, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive in Eudora, KS. Graveside services and inurnment will be held in La Junta, CO at a later date.

Barbara was born November 7, 1945 in Durango, CO the daughter of Loren and Hazel Matti (Clark) Hazelwood.

Barbara’s faith was an important part of her life. She attended and was a member of the Wesleyan Church in both Syracuse and Colby, KS.
Barbara spent a majority of her life as a stay-at-home mom loving and caring for her five children. As her children grew, she began working in the food service industry where she worked until she retired.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Lohmeyer (Jim), Hutchinson, KS Athena (Ron) Newman, Eudora; sons, Tim Brunson (Lori), Tipton, OK, Roger Brunson (Jessica), Eudora; grandchildren, Tanielle, Brunson, Tia Brunson, Roman Hernandez, Stephon Mathews, Camber Bohlen, Shayla Boor, Kanan Boor, Brandon Brunson, Alyssa Brunson, Jacob Brunson, Trey Newman, Ricky Newman, Savannah Newman; one great grandson, Saber Bohlen; and sisters, Shirley, Lorna, Marion, Doris, Molly, Katy. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Hazelwood; great grandson, Kash Boor; and brother, Charles Hazelwood.
