Barbara Mccandless Grodi

Funeral services for Barbara McCandless Grodi, Lawrence, KS, will be held at 6 p.m.     Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.  Burial will be in Hampden Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.  She died August 20, 2009 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado the daughter of Russell and Irma (Hoop) McCandless.  She was raised in Portland, Colorado.

She was a homemaker.

She married Wilmont C. “Bill” Grodi on August 7, 1946 in Denver, Colorado.  He preceded her in death on November 28, 2007.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Grodi in June of 1976.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheri Woolsey and her husband, Tom of Lawrence and two grandchildren, Ashley and Cole Woolsey.

Family will greet friends from 5 p.m until service time at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
