Beverly Jeanne North

Memorial services for Beverly J. North, 93, Lawrence will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church. Masks are mandatory at the church. Private family inurnment services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. North passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

She was born February 26, 1928 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Hilrey Oden (Jack) Hamilton and Fern Lenore (Losey) Hamilton.

Beverly graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. She married A.H. (Hank) North on November 28, 1946. Hank pre-deceased her in 2003.

Bev and Hank established Clinton Parkway Nursey in 1975. They sold the nursery and retired in 1993.

Bev was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lawrence. She sang in the choir and had been an Elder. She was also a member of the Lawrence Civic Choir and Crescendo Choir.

Prior to living in Lawrence, they resided in Ottawa. Bev sang in the church choir and they both were members of First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. Bev was also a member of Skilton Music Club. She directed the choir for the Job’s Daughters. She sang for many weddings and funerals. They were also members of the Elks Club in Ottawa and in Lawrence.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy A. Farrell, Eudora; Susan L. Reed, Scottsdale, AZ; a son, Ted H. North, Overland Park; a sister, Shirley Ann Minnick, St. Louis, MO; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Singing, church and family & friends were her joy.

The family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church, to the church choir, or VNA Hospice of Lawrence and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th St. Lawrence, KS 66044.

The family will greet friends following the service at the Holiday Inn Express.
