Beverly Brooks Temple

Memorial services for Beverly Brooks Temple, 85, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday,

January 9, 2015 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence. Inurnment will be Private at Pioneer Cemetery. She passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.

She was born November 15, 1929 in Martin, TN to John and Mamie (McMillion) Brooks.

She grew up in Martin, TN and moved to Coffeyville in 1938 where she graduated from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville.

She attended the University of Kansas and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.

She was member of the Plymouth Congregational Church, The Chi Omega Sorority Corporation Board. She assisted with Relay for Life and helped patients recovering from breast cancer treatment.

She was a co-owner of Undercover Women’s Lingerie store for several years in Lawrence with an additional location in Manhattan, KS.

She married Floyd O. Temple August 15, 1948 in Coffeyville, KS. He preceded her in death June 29, 2012.

Survivors include, one son, George “Biff” Temple, Granbury, TX; one daughter, Ann Clark, Arlington, TX; five grandchildren, Stephanie Temple, Kelly Ballard, Taylor Stapleton, Kaci Green, Brett Temple; and eleven great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
