Billy Joe Lytle, 82, of Mission, KS died September 1, 2018 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS. He was born on March 20, 1936 to William T. and Zelpha Land Lytle in Delta, CO.
In 1942, Bill’s parents moved their family from Twin Falls, ID to the Kansas City Area. He graduated from High School in DeSoto, KS in 1954. While still in high school, he began his life long association with the food industry when he went to work in the meat department of Falley’s meat market in Sunflower, KS. After attending the University of Kansas, he went into partnership in the Butcher Boy’s meat market in Overland Park, KS.
Bill went into service in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1959 to 1961. Upon returning to civilian life, he immediately accepted employment as a salesman with Wilson Meat Company and became a regional sales manager. Eventually, he established a partnership in his own food brokerage company, ProMarCo, Inc.
Bill was a member of the Community Christian Church on the Plaza for many years and volunteered in their Food Pantry. Family and friends will remember him as thoughtful, helpful and extremely generous.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Zelpha Lytle. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patty Lytle. Other survivors include his daughters Dianna (Deborah) Lytle and Lori (Andrew) Schmitt; his sons Doug Lytle and Jason (Tara) Lytle; his brother, John (Dee) Lytle; his sister, Phyllis Jordon; five grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
