Brett Steven Wells

Brett Steven Wells, 64, Lawrence, KS, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Midland Care Hospice in Topeka, KS with both of his sisters by his side. A Celebration of Life for Brett will be held on August 31, 2025, at 12:00 at the Cider Gallery, 810 Pennsylvania St, Lawrence, KS.

Brett was born September 7, 1960, in Lawrence, KS, the son of Robert J. and Mary Ann (Pohl) Wells.

Brett is survived by his father, Robert J. (Patty) Wells, mother, Mary Ann Corbin, sisters, Crystal (Michael) Harris, Diane (James) Becker, niece, Hannah (Zac) Towns, nephew, Nickolas Becker, great-niece, River Towns, stepbrothers, Greg Brown, Scott (Adrienne) Brown, step-nephew, Adam Harris, and step-nieces, Heather Pierce, Amber Brown and Abby Brown. Also, Brett’s loving caregivers Karim Abdel Banad and Magda Abduljabber and their family.

Brett was preceded in death by his grandmother, Opal M. Pohl, grandparents, Alfred (Vivian) Wells, and stepfather, Dick Corbin.

Brett has lived and been part of Good Life Innovations, formerly Community Living Opportunities (CLO), since 1989. Brett will be remembered for his unwavering kindness that touched everyone he met, the importance of music, specific TV stations, and the heartfelt love he had for his family. His family will miss his weekly phone calls to them where he would always want to sing together. Up until the end of his life, he fought hard with grace and dignity and anyone that was lucky enough to know Brett was a better person because of him.
