Carole Ann Morgan, 72, passed away on the morning of July 4th. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 18th, 1949, and had lived in the Lawrence, Kansas, area since 1971. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mabel Eilermann, sister Glenda Saborosch, and son Phillip Morgan. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Harry Morgan, daughter Lily Morgan, sister Elaine Kabrick, brothers-in-law Gary Kabrick and Glenn Saborosch, sister-in-law Lee Malerich, son-in-law Mike Hall, nephews Geoff and Garrett Saborosch, and her beloved dog Rita.
We will miss Carole’s quirky sense of humor and style, her caring and generous nature, her love of books, music, baking, gardening, and dogs, and so much more. Carole made friends everywhere she went and was always ready to lend a sympathetic ear or whip up some comfort food to share. In recent years she was an active member of the Women’s League of Voters and her book club.
To honor Carole’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on Monday, July 11th from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Lawrence Union Pacific Depot (402 N. 2nd St.). We invite anyone who knew Carole to stop by or stay and share stories in remembrance of her. We encourage attendees to wear comfortable clothing in bright colors.
