Clarice Morriss

Graveside services for Clarice Morriss, 84, Eudora will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Eudora Cemetery. She died Friday, April 4, 2014 at Medicalodges Eudora.

Clarice was born April 13, 1929 in Marysville, KS the daughter of Phillip E. and Effie E. Bartley.

She was a member of the Eudora United Methodist Church and Rebekahs Lodge.

She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, reading and all activities at the Medicalodge.

She married Melvin A. Morriss, Sr. on January 6, 1948 in Marysville, KS. He preceded her in death March 31, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and six sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin A. Morriss, Jr. of Eudora, KS; Richard Morriss of St. Petersburg, FL; a daughter, Gina Thompkins of Lee Summit, MO; two sisters, Phyllis Oshel of Eudora, KS and Doris Perez of Marysville, KS; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary –Eudora Chapel.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Grace Hospice or to Eudora Medicalodge and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
