Funeral services for Clifford Raymond LaFrenz, 77, Lawrence, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Clifford went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2022, after a brief illness.
Cliff was born on May 22, 1945, in Hendricks, MN to Raymond Theodore & Olga (Claussen) LaFrenz. He later moved to Lawrence where he joined the Air Force. He met and married Alice Knapp in 1966. She preceded him in death in 2000. Together they have four children.
Cliff worked at Hallmark Cards until his retirement. He also did taxes for H&R Block. Cliff was one of the founding members of the Boys Club that is now the Boys & Girls Club. Cliff was also a life-long member of the Jaycees. Cliff later met and married Marjorie Kellner. Marjorie had six children which whom Cliff took in as his own. Cliff was a person that you easily liked and wanted to be with. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Bowen Kellner Lafrenz of the home; sons, Duane (Cheryl), Lawrence, David (Hannah) and Brian, Lawrence; daughter, Laura (Allen) Kenyon; step sons, Gary (Barb) Unfred, Meriden and Dempsy Kellner of the home; step daughters, Diane Unfred, Ashley (Tim) Reed, Lawrence, and Kristan Kellner of the home; sisters, Jan (Jon) Flolid, MN and Jo (Bill) Clay, MN; sister-in-law, Kathy Lafrenz, MN; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and Jason Vogts.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Barney LaFrenz; sister, Veronica Fish; stepdaughter, Debbie Hamm, and granddaughter, Kelsey McReynolds.
Sincere thanks to the nurses who took the best care of Cliff from VNA to Hospice Care.
The family will greet friends from 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Clifford’s name to the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13 th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
