David Matthew Sprinkle

David was born on October 5, 1956, in Mobile, AL to Albert Sprinkle Sr. and Josephine “Edris” (Klein) Sprinkle.

He was the 5th of 6 children, Albert Jr. Mike, Russ, Wes, and Sally. Preceding him in death are both parents, brother Russ, nephew Mike Jr, and his beautiful babies who are now with him in heaven.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a communications specialist. He enjoyed his work in this field and carried it through to civilian life working for a major telecommunications company until retirement.

He married Dina High from Tonganoxie, KS in 1984 and they remained married until his passing, just shy of their 40th anniversary.

David lived a wonderful life. He had a kind, generous heart and never hesitated to help others.  Most who met David found him to be quite a feisty fella, but that just added to his charm.

David will be interred with honors at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS, 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Dina would like to thank everyone involved in providing him with such compassionate care at the end of his life. These include his home care provider, Jess, who was with David for 5 years and became a cherished member of our family; the irreplaceable staff at Life Care Center of Burlington; and the wonderful folks at Good Shepherd Hospice.

He is now in the loving embrace of our Lord.
