David Miller

David Miller born June 6, 1976, passed away during the late evening January 18, 2024. David was surrounded by his family when he passed. He was a son, brother and uncle who is survived by his parents Linda and Danny Miller, his older sisters Cora Carey and LaShane Cupil, his older

brother Chris Howell, and younger brother Robert Miller, as well as his nieces and nephew Felicia Carey, Ciara Carey, Dacia Starr, and Sky Carey.

David was born in Lawrence and grew up in the city’s east side in the New York School neighborhood and attended Central Junior High School and then Lawrence High School.

David had a strong, kind, and thoughtful spirit. He battled cancer for 3.5 years and remained dedicated to working at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 26 years. David stopped last summer to get some well-deserved rest and to spend time with his family.

David loved music and shared it by taking his nieces and nephew to many concerts in Kansas City and locally in Lawrence. David often rode the train from Lawrence to Chicago, IL and Baltimore, MD to attend concerts and music festivals.

David’s passing is hard, but he is now painless and receiving the rest he deserves.

David will be missed by his family, friends, and all those he met.

The family is holding a private service for David on Friday, January 26, 2024.
