Debra “Debby” S. Mosher, 65, of Lawrence, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after fighting a sudden and difficult battle with hemolytic anemia and strokes.
Debby was born July 1, 1952 in Denver, CO the daughter of Vernon Charles and Alva (Caudill) Anderson. She was a lover of the Colorado foothills, horses, cats, God, and family. She received her BA from Phillips University in Enid, OK, which began a lifelong career of educating. Most recently, she was an educator at South Middle School and the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club. For many years she was a managing editor at Allen Press, Inc. Debby was also a sign language interpreter at the Mustard Seed Church and seemed to add a beauty to the service that the whole congregation looked forward to. Throughout her life, she continued to love and play music, especially her flutes. She was a member of the Mustard Seed Church, Peace Makers Quilting Club, Saturday Sisters, bible study groups and was a former Lawrence City Band Flutist.
Debby was a loving mother, delightful grandmother, and a generous friend. She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Meiers (Mathew), Suzy Green (Casey); son, Jon Mosher (Renee), all of Lawrence; five grandchildren, Mabel, Lincoln, Miles, James, Haylee; brother, Jim Anderson (Sue), Rochester, NY; her cats, Sweet Pea and Jasper; father of her children, David Mosher; and many extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Debby will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Mustard Seed Church in Lawrence. Visitation will take place at 1:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service. Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club or The Willow Domestic Violence Center and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
