Funeral services for Delbert Lavern Eberhart, 85, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street in Lawrence. Burial will follow with full military honors at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, KS. He passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Medicalodges Eudora.
Delbert was born March 29, 1931 in Lawrence, KS the son of Everett L. and Leona D. (Dailey) Eberhart.
He served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sgt. during the Korean War.
He was a school bus driver for Lawrence School District. He was always requested by the Lawrence High School Football team and FFA program to drive for them.
He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He married Jean Murray March 18, 1976 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his two daughters, Marsha and husband, Bill Almond, Overbrook, KS, Cheryl and husband, Bob Bowman, Topeka; three sons, Joe and wife, Martha Eberhart, Baldwin City, KS, Paul and wife, Lori Eberhart, Monck Corner, SC, Isaiah and wife, Angela Eberhart, Olathe, KS; many grandchildren; and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Noah Eberhart; and Sis.
The family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, February 6th at the mortuary in Lawrence.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post #14 and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
