Celebration of Life for Delwin R. Barnett, 74, Lawrence, will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Delwin passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2024, at Parkway Care & Rehabilitation in Edwardsville, KS.
Delwin was born on January 6, 1950 in Loveland, Texas, the son of William and Marie (Grant) Barnett.
He served his country in the United States Army serving three tours in Vietnam. He received many honors for his service, he was Special Forces Green Beret.
He enjoyed cooking and fishing.
He married Glenna Corel on May 24, 1997, in Lawrence, KS. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include Glenna’s son, Jeff (JoDeane) Licktieg, two grandsons, Jonathan Licktieg, Zachary (Karissa) Licktieg and great-granddaughter, Nova Leigh Licktieg.
Memorial contributions may be made in Delwin’s name to the Wounded Warriors and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
