Dorothy M. Wingebach

Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy M. Wingebach, 87, Eudora will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial will follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. She passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.

Dorothy was born May 20, 1927 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Charles and Adeline (Sanford) Lehmer.

She graduated in 1945 from College High at Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg. She was employed with Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator for 10 years in Pittsburg. She worked for Hercules Ordnance as a telephone operator from 1965 to 1968 at Sunflower in De Soto. She was employed with King Radio from 1980 to 1990 when she retired.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora and a member of St. Thersea’s Society, Red Hat Society, Eudora Historical Society, served on the Election Board, and was an international adoptive parent.

She married Raymond Wingebach December 29, 1951 in Pittsburg, KS. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include one daughter, Linda (Keith) Litle; two sons, Chuck (Tracy) Wingebach and John (Debbie) Wingebach; nine grandchildren, Andy, Jacob, Jenny, Tyler, Jodi, Stefanie, Alisha, Luke, and Carley; 13 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Wanda Kendall and Vivian (Sam) Guillory. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Thomas Wingebach; and grandson, Chris Sommer.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel in Eudora.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Holy Family Catholic Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
