A service to celebrate the life of Dwight W. Brinkley, 80, Lawrence, KS, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence, KS. Dwight passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at his home.
Dwight was born on March 7, 1943, in Milford, IA, the son of Dale and Gladys (Stukey) Brinkley.
He was a Geologist.
He married Mary Adsit on December 29, 1968, in Milford, IA. She survives at home.
Other survivors include his children, Elizabeth (Maka) Pateta, Adam Brinkley; brother, Don Brinkley and his wife, Judy; two grandchildren, Katherine, A.J., and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Brinkley, and sister, Carol Koep
The family suggests memorials in Dwight’s name to LMH Cancer Center and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
