Edward Irwin Shaw, 90 of Lawrence died May 5, 2017 at his home. Edward was born January 17, 1927 in Long Island, New York the son of Daniel and Edna “Etta” (Bath) Shaw.
He received his Bachelor and Master Degrees from the University of Missouri and received his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee.
He was a Professor of Radiation Biophysics and taught Biology for the University of Kansas for 40 years from 1956-1996.
Edward had a great love for the outdoors, he was an avid birder and enjoyed photography.
He was a longtime member of the Jayhawk Audubon Society.
Edward married Cynthia Blackhall on June 27, 1980 in Lawrence, KS. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Shaw, Sandra Shaw; son, Daniel Shaw; step-son, Jay Clinton; four grandchildren, Joseph Shaw, William Shaw, Shannon Shaw and Samuel Shaw.
