Effie Presswood

Funeral service for Effie M. Presswood (Shorter), 46, Lawrence will be held 1 p.m at 9th St. Baptist Church on Saturday, October 17, 2009.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Ms. Presswood died October 13, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born on July 4, 1963 the daughter of Robert C., Sr. and Flossie B. Presswood Shorter.

She was a Mutual Fund Representative at DST Systems.  She was a member of Calvary Church of God in Christ.

Survivors include her mother, Flossie, Lawrence; two daughters, Kiera J. Shorter, of the home; Jennifer A. Tolbert, Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Robert Shorter, Jr., Lawrence, Lewis Harris, Lawton, OK; three sisters, Florine J. Shorter, Topeka, KS, Erma Snow, Killeen, TX; Jackie Howard, Copperas Cove, TX; one granddaughter, Shalece.  She was preceded in death by her father.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Oncology Department and sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
