Elizabeth Ellsworth

No services are planned for Elizabeth L. Ellsworth, 83, of Lawrence. She died September 2, 2011 at her home.
Betty was born March 5, 1928, in Lawrence, the daughter of Carl D. and Nona Iona (Bracken) Smith. She was a 1945 graduate of Liberty Memorial High School, Lawrence, KS. She attended the Wright School of Business in Kansas City, KS.
Betty worked for 16 years at the Douglas County State Bank in Lawrence. She retired from the Accounting Department at the University of Kansas Comptroller’s Office.
Ms. Ellsworth is survived by a son Richard E. “Ed” Ellsworth and wife Debbie, Excelsior Springs, MO; a brother, Lester D. Smith and a sister, Janice I. Orlowski, both of Lawrence; three grandsons, David Ellsworth and wife Susan, Memphis, TN; Eric Ellsworth, U.S. Air Force, and Alexander “Alex” Ellsworth, Liberty, MO; a great-grandson, Corbin Ellsworth, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary S. Ellsworth; and a sister, Mary I. Kennedy.
