Eloise Strother

Eloise K. Strother, 93, passed on April 5, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Eloise was born August 25, 1918 in Polar Branch, NC the daughter of Charles C. and Myra (Poyner) Krank.

She served as a Navy Nurse where she met and married Navy Captain Robert B. Strother of Grayson, KY on October 27, 1943. They moved to Toledo OH where he was Chief of Surgery at St. Lukes Hospital and they raised their three children. Eloise and her husband retired to St. Petersburg, FL in 1993. They moved to Lawrence, KS in 2008 to live near their daughter. Eloise has resided at Brandonwoods Apartments.

She is survived by a daughter Dr. Myra Strother and two grandchildren, Virginia Strother, and Kendall Goodden in Lawrence KS;  two sons; Robert B. Strother Jr. of Cleveland OH, and John P. Strother  of Houston TX; two sisters, Marjorie Keith of Norfolk, VA, and Ruth McClarran of Winston Salem, NC.

She will be Inurned in Grayson, KY at a family ceremony on April 14, 2012.
