Eugene R. Snow

Graveside services for Eugene R. Snow, 98, Lawrence, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, KS. Eugene passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his daughter’s home.

Eugene was born on January 22, 1923 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Allen Ray and Effie (Haughn) Snow. He was a lifetime resident of Lawrence.

He served his country in the United States Navy.

He enjoyed working on anything mechanical and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years.

He was a Mechanic for Ford Tractor for 38 years.

He married Doris Jean Iles on October 26, 1947 in Lawrence. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2004.

Survivors include his two daughters, Karen (Art) Swalwell, Overland Park, KS, Donis (Greg) Sawyer, Lawrence; three grandchildren, Megan Hewitt, Alexis Cortes, Doug Swalwell; two step grandchildren, Travis Sawyer, Ashley Sawyer; two great grandchildren, Parker Hewitt, Connor Hewitt; and five step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The family would like to thank Dr. Pee’s and his nursing staff for their years of wonderful care of Eugene.
