A visitation will be held for Faustino Gomez Arreola, 50, of Lawrence on Friday, July 6th from 6 p.m – 8 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date on his family’s ranch in Durango, Mexico. He passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the University of Kansas Medical Center surrounded by many loved ones.
Faustino was born February 27, 1968 in Amoles, Rodeo, Durango, Mexico the son of Martil Gomez Soto and Maria Arreola.
He was a concrete worker for Hicks Classic Concrete.
Faustino was a man who always worked hard and did not quit until the job was finished. He had a deep devotion and love for his family and for the ranch he grew up on. Faustino enjoyed barbecues, going to the casino, and spending time with those who meant the most to him.
He married Thelma French on August 23, 2008 in Lawrence, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his mother, Maria; children Alfred, Lety, and Mary Gomez-Figueroa; brothers, Marcelo and Juan; sisters, Reyna, Maria, Lupe, Rosa, and Lily Gomez Arreola; and stepchildren, Randy, Ronnie, and Carolyn.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Matil Gomez Soto and brother, Mario Gomez Arreola.
Memorial Contributions may be made out to the family to help with funeral expenses and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
