Florene Mcmillian

Mass of Christian Burial for Florene Ann McMillian, 85, DeSoto, will be Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora.  Burial will follow in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.  Mrs. McMillian died Sunday, April 4, at Shawnee Gardens Healthcare in Shawnee.

Florene was born January 7, 1925 in Montrose, MO, the daughter of Edward
Anthony and Dena (Daldrup) Rotert.

She was a homemaker and was involved in school activities and Holy Family Catholic Church.

She married Donald McMillian on June 23, 1947 in Germantown, MO.  He preceded her in death on July 28, 1997.

Survivors include: two daughters, Sharyl McMillian-Nelson, Shawnee and Carol Phillips, DeSoto; two sisters, Kathleen Lesmeister, Independence, MO and Bernadette Greufe, Spring Hill, KS; one brother, Willard Rotert, Hermitage, MO and three grandchildren, Jacob Phillips, Jenna Phillips, and Andrew Nelson.

A Rosary will be said on Wednesday April 7, 2010 at 5:30 pm followed by visitation until 7:30 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel.  Memorials in her name may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association and sent to Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
