A memorial service for Floyd L. Ott, 91, Eudora, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1st, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel, Eudora, KS. He passed away March 15, 2017 at home.
Floyd was born in Eudora to Arthur and Clara Ott on September 19, 1925. He graduated from Eudora High School, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Merchant Marines and Navy. He married Clara Elizabeth (Becky) Hauck on February 29, 1948 in Higginsville, Missouri. Floyd was a farmer. He also sold garden and orchard produce at Lawrence Farmers Market for 30 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Floyd was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Eudora Odd Fellows, VFW, Douglas County Farm Bureau, and Wauka-tauy Wildlife Association.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife Becky, and their daughter Roberta Farris of Topeka. He is survived by daughters Jane Barthurst, Richmond, Virginia, and Peggy Skaggs, Westcliffe, Colorado; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Visiting Nurses Hospice and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
