Francis "Frank" Hurtig

A Celebration of Life for Francis “Frank” Hurtig, 36, Topeka will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, Kansas. Frank passed away August 2, 2026, at LMH.

Frank was born on March 8, 1990 in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of David Hurtig and Pearl Jamison Williamson.

He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Liberal Arts, and for the past 8 years worked for Magellan Financial Services as a senior Recruiter.

Growing up, Frank was an avid soccer player, competing throughout his educational career and even after college in a professional futsal league. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with loved ones and friends, attending live music, and finding the best local restaurants. He relished the outdoors, engaging in various activities like hiking, riding his motorcycle or 4-wheeler, golfing, playing catch, pickleball, basketball, tennis, and swimming. He was an avid reader, often spending his free time listening to audiobooks. Frank was always up for an adventure and loved embarking on road trips. Above all, he cherished spending quality time with his son and his beloved dog, JoAnn. His friends and family will fondly remember his affectionate “Frank hug”.

Survivors include his son, Alexander Francis "Lex" Hurtig; his parents, Pearl Williamson and stepfather David Williamson; his father, David Francis Hurtig; his brother, Michael David (Nikol) Hurtig; his half-brothers, Rob (Shayla)

Hurtig and Joe (Jessica) Hurtig; his step-brothers, John (Melissa) Williamson and Derek (Andrea) Williamson; his fiancé, Cindy Jacobson; his close friend, Kyle McClellan; and his beloved dog, JoAnn.
