Gene Bickford

Graveside service for Gene G. Bickford, 87, Lawrence will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, September, 24 at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mr. Bickford died September 21, 2010 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born on October 18, 1922 in Austin, Texas the son of Grace (Cooper) and E.C. Bickford.

He served in the US Army during WWII.  Gene was a maintenance worker for Stokley Van Camp for many years.

He married Dessie Dean on September 30, 1956 in Lawrence.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Joe and wife, Marci, Roy, all of Lawrence; one daughter, Judy and partner, Robert Thornhill, Ramona, KS; two granddaughters, Jessica Smith, Chelsea Weber; and 2 great grandchildren, Abagail and Tucker.
