Goldie M. Harmon

Goldie M Dodson Harmon died April 12, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Iva Blankenship and Edward Dodson, five siblings and one grandson, Zachary M. Harmon.

Goldie was born 2-12-1917 in Lawrence, Kansas and was one of seven children. She is survived by her youngest sister, Virgina Copp.

Goldie married Merton Harmon in 1934 and they had four sons, all surviving: William L. Harmon (married to Marybeth Harmon), Herbert E. Harmon, Charles J. Harmon, and Thomas E. Harmon (married to Marianna Harmon). She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Bill Harmon, Jr. (married to Sha Harmon), Beth Pine, Josie Harmon, Kirk Harmon, Gunar Harmon (married to Rachel Harmon), David Beebe (married to Teresa Beebe), and Daniel Beebe (married Bambi Beebe), nine great-grandchildren, and four great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merton Harmon and grandson, Zachary Harmon.

Goldie worked at East Heights Elementary School, Hallmark Cards, House-mother at several fraternities, and Prairie Ridge Place.

Goldie and Merton were active members of the American Legion.
