Graveside inurnment services for Helen A. Best, 85, Lawrence will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. She died September 4, 2010 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence.
She was born July 6, 1925 in Lawrence the daughter of Ralph L. and Georgianna (Uttinger) Montell.
She was a homemaker.
She married Warren G. “Bud” Best on August 6, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Terry and husband, Jim Rood of Lawrence; one grandchild, Daniel and wife, Cyndi Rood and two great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care and sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
