Ike Turner

Funeral services for Ike Turner, 60, Topeka, KS will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.

He died on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Turner was born on May 22, 1950 in Hollendale, Mississippi, the son of George and Rosie Lee Turner.

He worked as a track inspector for the Union Pacific Railroad.

Mr. Turner married Tonya Morrison on November 14, 1974 in Topeka, KS.  She survives of the home.

Survivors include; two daughters, Felicia Denman, Charlotte, NC and Mia Denman, Jackson, MS; three brothers, William Turner, Lawrence, KS, Lawrence Turner, Mobile, AL, and Samuel Turner, Kansas City, KS; two sisters, Lorain Lawhorn, Junction City, KS, and Seressa Sanford, Hollendale, MS; and five granddaughters.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Turner and Elijah Turner.

Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday.
