Ilah E. Jennings Derrick

Graveside services for Ilah E. Jennings Derrick, 98, Lawrence will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. She passed away Friday, December 17, 2015.

Ilah was born March 14, 1917 in Washington County, KS the daughter of Francis Iver and Bessie Mary Nutter Jennings. Ilah was the fourth child of six children.

She graduated from Cosmetology school in Omaha, NE. She worked at the Methodist Nursing Home in Topeka, KS as a beautician for many years.

She married John Derrick on August 12, 1939. He preceded her in death May 31, 1992.

Survivors include son, Roy Derrick, Lawrence; and daughter, Sharon Beach, Redlands, CA; two grandsons, Justin, Toronto, Canada, Shawn, Redlands, CA; and two great granddaughters, Blythe and Marley Beach, Canada.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Lawrence Heights Christian Church and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
