J. LeRoy Bateson passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 96. He lived a long, full, and generous life.

LeRoy was known for his friendly and giving nature. He was always willing to help others or share whatever he had—asking for nothing in return, well, maybe just a six-pack. He was proud to have served his country in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956, where he was appointed President Eisenhower’s aide at the Summer White House in Denver.

When LeRoy wasn’t working or helping others with 'honey-do’s,' he could be found outdoors—fishing, hunting, camping, and boating with family and friends. He spent countless years enjoying nature and making memories, always ensuring that his loved ones were included and having the time of their lives.

After retiring, LeRoy and Doris cherished their years together on Lake Dabinawa, where he found joy in building projects, splitting wood, playing horseshoes, taking grandchildren tubing and simply spending time in the garage.

He will be remembered as a hard-working, humble, and true role model—a man deeply admired and forever loved by his family and friends. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him
