Funeral service for Jack Warren Bannister, 86, Eudora will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary- Eudora Chapel.  Burial will follow at Eudora Cemetery with Military Honors.    Mr. Bannister died December 6, 2010 at his home.

He was born on November 8, 1924 in Dalzell, Illinois the son of Amos and Charity (Wood) Bannister.  He was the youngest of eight children.

He served in the U.S. Army Third Infantry Division, 15th Infantry, based out of Fort Ord, California during WWII.  He attended Grace and Glory Bible College in Kansas City, Missouri and served as a teacher there for a number of years.  He was one of the original founders of and pastor at Grace Chapel in Carbondale, Kansas from 1958 until 1980.  He also served as pastor at Christian Assembly Tabernacle in Kansas City, Missouri from December 1980 until October 1981.  Together with his wife, he published a faith based monthly magazine, The Point Of Reference, from 1981 until the present, the publication continues.  Mr. Bannister was a member of the Dorsey-Liberty Post #14, American Legion in Lawrence.

He married Lois Clark on June 7, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Dawn Rosebrough and husband, Larry, of Topeka, Lesli Eller and husband, Bruce, Gardner, Kansas; one son, Charles Bannister and wife, Donna, Eudora.  He also leaves behind two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel.

In Lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Pauline Ministry Publication and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
